Sugar and Spice Grand Opening

This weekend was Sugar and Spice's grand opening. Sugar and Spice is the first retail store that will be selling my handmade items. Right now some of my notecards and "my book"s are on the shelves there in Anchorage.

Go visit Sarah's blog: ( Sugar and Spice ) to see some photos of the grand opening. Look at the shelves on the wall. I think my books are on the bottom shelf, all the way to the right. I love the floors in there.

Some of my current favorite Etsy finds:

Beautiful, colorful and super creative Harry Potter subject notebooks by celestefrittata. I want some of these. It's just difficult to catch them in her shop -- they sell crazy fast and it's obvious why. Check out her sold items to see all of her different styles and colors. They're fantastic. Most of these run about $18 each.

Lovely earrings by Candy's Art Designs. Just $7.00. Fast shipping as well.

Pretty storage jars from Pink Grapefruit Style.

These are just a few of my favs, there will be more to come.

Martha Stewart :: Create

Going into Walmart today just looking for some fabric, I wasn't expecting to find a whole half-aisle of Martha Stewart crafting supplies! I'm so happy that her craft supplies are going to be available at another retail chain. She has been selling supplies at Michaels for a while, but you can only see the same things so many times before you crave more new things. Well, you can find some fresh new things at your local Walmart or online now. As soon as I get back from our trip -- it's off to Walmart for some beautiful Martha Stewart paper and labels! Thank you, MSLO.

Leaving on a jet plane.

Well, it's just about time to leave on our trip to Portland, OR. Tomorrow, or should I say, today is our last chance to tie up all of our loose ends around the house and with work, pack, and then we're off for a week in the north west. Portland is so great. The people are nice, everyone cares about the environment, and the thing I'm looking forward to most -- the Saturday Market. It's this place downtown where every weekend crafters and people that sell great food of all kinds gather to sell their goods. I can't wait to see what's there this year. Last year I bought a really pretty necklace there, and the food was great. So, as often as we can, we plan on going by there to eat and shop. I'll post pictures up. I may even be able to while we're there.

As soon as we return it will be time to get to work for the Craftin' Outlaws craft fair here in Columbus on August 16th. Sarah from SpaceDog Studios and I will be sharing our second table and we're really excited and nervous. Take a look at the craft fair site for more info on the event.

Here are the things I have been working on this week to send over to Sugar and Spice in Anchorage, AK.

{ note cards }
made from vintage children's book illustrations and scrap papers.

{ my book }
a handmade children's activity book.

My new crafting blog.

I thought it was about time to give the crafting part of my life it's own blog. I will be posting all the awesome crafty things I find here, and I'll be posting up some of my own projects. There will also be updates on what I'm working on, etc. Thanks for stopping by, and remember to visit me on etsy every once in a while since I'm always adding new things.
